Deck Chairs – The Art of Relaxation

The Art of Relaxation - the Deck ChairThe deck chair, although traditional, has come a long way since its early beginnings; however the design of the deck chair has always remained the same. The unique sling system, mounted on a wooden frame allows the user to lounge comfortably whist offering soft support.

The adjustable frame promotes relaxation and allows a different range of positions to enable users to watch specific events or just as easily to snooze in the sunshine. This gives the deckchair a distinct advantage over other upright chairs. The foldaway design also enables easy storage.

Many modern deckchairs now also come with added features, such as arms, pillows and foot rests. The comfort that these extras provide, mean that many an hour can be lost especially when the sun is shining and the world is whizzing by.

Previously deck chairs were made from stiff heavy duty canvas; this was so that the deck chair in its original location, on a ship’s deck, could withstand sea spray and extreme weather. Thankfully modern fabrics are much softer and easily mould to your shape whilst still giving you much needed support.

Here at Anywhere Deck Chairs the fabric we use on our deck chairs is Textilene.® This fabric is hard wearing however it is extremely soft and flexible allowing comfort and support for everyone from the young to the young at heart!
